Nose:

Thin but bright herbal thread feeding through nicely, fresh mint and wormwood opening up to yellow fruits which gradually transforms into wonderful sweet egg yolk custard and vanilla milk. Aroma of black pepper, gentle jasmine fragrance diffusing in. Fresh spices rumbling and twinkling at the back to provide an excellent balance. Malt giving a warm and delicate glow. Lovely nose.

Palate:

Vanilla and malt station firmly at the front, barley is more pronounced with a high level of dry spice and wood elements building around it. Still very herbaceous. Supple tropical fruits and lime running on a more subtle line. Oak is cutting in pretty deep here in the middle. Mint stalk, white peppercorns, cedar cheese, coconut shreds and wood spice side notes building up as well. Light floral fragrance, mineral touches with another heavy dose of dry barley. The beautiful milk custard finally finding its way back towards the end.

Finish:

The milky sweetness return to full form now, Crème Brûlée and vanilla pudding shining beautifully with tropical fruits. Delicious.

Thoughts:

My first 90 Jura which I was told it is building up quite a reputation these days, I was really impressed with the nose as the profile, balance and complexity is exceptional. The palate, however, is slightly over-oaked for me. Maybe it has slightly past its peak and I wonder it would have been a better expression if bottled a couple of years earlier. Maybe I am being picky again. Well, perfect expressions does not happen very often, but this is already pretty pretty good.
